So much of the designs, music and effects have been incorporated into Something, Something that if they didn't have at least official legal permission, they'd surely risk being sued. Let's just say it's not, "I know." It's also clear that, like Blue Harvest, this was made with the cooperation of the Lucas camp. In fact, one of the funniest moments in the film is Peter's profanity-laden response to Lois' line, "I love you," just as he's about to be frozen in carbonite. With a direct-to-DVD release, there's no worries about swearing or dick jokes. The humor is a bit raunchier this time, too. There are random pop culture references, like a recreation of a gum commercial from the '80s or the training sequence from Rocky IV and bizarre celebrity cameos, including George Takei, Don Knotts, Rodney Dangerfield and James Caan, plus an actual voice cameo by the real James Woods as an Imperial soldier. Family Guy has always taken a shotgun approach to comedy – it just keeps firing jokes non-stop, and misses just as often as it hits. They even recycle some of the jokes from the first Star Wars spoof, like some playful shots at Seth Green, who once again points out (as Chris Griffin) that Robot Chicken has done it already.

Like the fact that there are infinite directions they could head when fleeing Hoth, but the rebels head right for the Imperial fleet, or the creepy detail that Lando was wearing Han's clothes at the end of the film (though that point is made less than subtly). Writer Kirker Butler does come up with some fresh observations, though. People have been spoofing Star Wars for more than 30 years, so most of that territory has been mined already.

The movie has some funny bits, but it suffers from the same problems that plagued Blue Harvest. Due to the lack of female characters, poor Meg is relegated once again to the role of a creature, this time the space slug the Millennium Falcon lands inside after evading Hoth's asteroid belt. A few other recurring characters and gags from the series show up as well, like Ernie the Giant Chicken as Boba Fett. All of the Family Guy characters reprise their roles in the Star Wars universe, with Stewie as Darth Vader, Peter as Han Solo, Chris as Luke and Lois as Princess Leia. Read the BlueHarvest end user license agreement. As with Blue Harvest, this one follows the plot of the film closely, with a few minor detours for the sake of comedy.
